Before reading further, first answer a simple question:

Have you ever been distracted while driving, got lost in thoughts and then suddenly arrived at your destination.

If your answer is yes, then have you ever wondered how you arrived at your destination even when you were not focused on your destination, even when you were fully occupied by random thoughts?

The thing is that we go through life on auto-pilot like this too often. Even when we think that everything is in control, things might not be the way as you think. Did you deliberately took the left turn while driving when you were lost in deep thoughts? No, you didn't. Even though you thought that you were in complete control while driving, the truth is that you weren't.

The similar concept applies in Life too. The thing is that we get motivated after watching a motivational movie or by reading a novel, and we think that we're now fully charged up to change the world. But what happens when you actually start doing things that matter. Suddenly, day after day, the motivation starts to deteriorate and we start to loose focus of our passions and goals.

I'm not a motivational speaker, but I know one thing from my own experience that every day is a new day. Every day we start fresh and every day we fight some battles against our inner self. Right from the very moment we wake up, we fight a battle against our inner self to get out of the bed. The moment you said "Let's just stay in bed for five more minutes" is the very moment you've lost the first battle of the day. Then, the next battle is to find motivation to start working on a project or finish the Physics assignment. The day when your count of wins is greater than number of loses is declared as a 'Productive day'. But how to stay productive every single day?

The answer lies in a simple concept. Why do we take a bath every day, because we need it. Similarly, we need a daily dose of motivation to stay focused on our goals. That's the only way to take control of life.

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily. ~ Zig Ziglar

If you wish to live an extraordinary life, you need to take control of your daily habits. Accept Minimalism and declutter unwanted stuff from your daily schedule.

You should start your day by realizing what's more important to you today.

Start your day by thinking about your mortality, it’s actually incredibly motivating and filled with the optimistic hope that you can do better every single day. Finding meaning and purpose as soon as you wake up has been proven to boost productivity and improve focus.
